Nose Bleeds: Depends on the cause of the nose bleeds. The age of the patient would be helpful to know, because avms are a common cause in the elderly, and rhinoscopy may be needed to isolate the arterial connection to the vein. Packing and pressure are probably the next approach if they are still bleeding. See your physician for this if the bleeding is not stopping.

Nose bleed: Hello, i would recommend an afrin (oxymetazoline) soaked cotton ball be placed in the side that was cauterized. Replace this as needed. Keep your head back with your nose pointed to the ceiling. Blood, drainage and clots will pass to the back of your throat. Just spit these out. This position will decrease the blood flow to the nose and stop the bleeding.
