Thriving with HIV: I feel your pain and wish you were here in my hometown and seeing me. There is a period of time after getting diagnosed with HIV that is all about grieving. One has a hard time controlling this process but it leads to better life after the grieving has been dealt with. Most of my guys with HIV find friends who are positive to hang with. They date other positive men and feel a sense of community.

HIV and people: Dealing with HIV can be painful -- and you're right, many people are frightened. This can result in avoidance, etc. There can be other possible reasons for relationship issues too. I don't know where you live, but most communities have support groups for people living with hiv. Your doctor may know of some. Please ask, ; get connected. Also, working with a therapist can be helpful. Be well.
