Visit your Doctor: An examination by your physician is the best way to find out the cause of your pain. It will require a medical examination and some tests. The cause may be related to your cervical spine problems like arthritis or it could be a nerve problem, possibly related to diabetes. Only a detailed evaluation can reveal the cause. In the meantime, you should take tylenol (acetaminophen) or aleve for pain control.
