Depends: So depends on wear tear is. Is it just a laceration or cut on the hand or skin? If it is superficial or small then it does not require any stitches/sutures. If deeper it may benefit from some stitches. But usually not surgery. This can be assessed in a local urgent care or emergency room or even by your doctor. At this point, keep it clean with antibiotic ointment and occlusive dressing/bandaid.
