The best thing to: Do is let your surgeon know. If you have swelling in your foot best to elevate. If you don't then putting down would be okay. But, the numbness you are feeling may or may not be related to the surgery and your surgeon should be informed.

Not directly related: Your numbness, is probably not related to the bunion surgery itself. Consider the fact, that a tourniquet was used. This may have been placed as high as your thigh. How long ago was the bunion surgery? If it's been longer than a week, talk to your surgeon about this.
