ENT doc: An otorhinolaryngologist(ear/nose/throat doctor) would be the best person to see regarding a tongue lesion. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is another option but they usually deal with teeth and jaw bones. Oral pathologists do not see patients but would interpret a biopsy if one was needed.

Tongue doctor?: There is no specialty of medicine or dentistry that deals only or specifically with 'tongues'. The best doctor (ent, oral pathologist, oral surgeon, general dentist, . Pcp) would depend upon the specific issue or problem- irritation, allergy, neoplasm, laceration, thrush, viral or bacterial infections, canker sore, herpes, lichen planus, lupus or other medical issues, etc.

Oral surgeon: If you have a tongue issue, you should visit an oral surgeon first, to see if it is a localized issue. If it is more systemic, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist.
