How would doctors fix my ankyloglossia (tongue tied)?

Simple procedure: The repair can be as simple as just snipping it under local or performing a frenoplasty where it is sectioned and tissue rearranged to lengthen the area. You should speak with an ENT doctor if you would like something done.

Easy in a grownup: Generally, in young babies this is done with a snip in clinic under local anesthetic. In older babies and young children it is done in the operating room with anesthetic gas and a snip, possibly with melting sutures. In teens and adults, it can often be done in clinic with some numbing medicine and a snip. I'd put a few melting stitches. You can return to work right after.
