Normal: Yes that happens commonly. If the shot was today you can use cool compresses and massage to help provide relief. It can take several days sometimes weeks for the knot to completely go away, but it will. Report anything excessive (pain that lasts for days, the knot is warmer than the rest of the surrounding skin etc) to your pediatrician right away.
