Varies because: Three things required to treat infected teeth are antibiotics, removing the cause of the infection and your body's defense mechanisms. While an effective antibiotic takes 24 to 48 hours to 'work', how quickly swelling, pain, and the infection become under control varies greatly. Your own dentist needs to treat and closely monitor these situations.

Depends: Depends. If extracted, should feel better the next day. If treated by filling, day or two. If treated with antibiotics, usually the next day.

Infected tooth: Depending on severity of the infection, Antibiotics can decrease the pain in 48 hours. However, if the tooth is not treated the pain will return and probably be worse. See your dentist and have the tooth treated.
