Optic neuritis : Causes include: ms, syphilis, lyme's disease, herpes zoster, lupus, neurosarcoidosis, inflammatory bowel disease, chloramphenicol, ethambutol, diabetes, and vasculitis. To the extent that stress can contribute to these, it can contribute to optic neuritis.
