Can my dog be reinfecting me with scabies?

Maybe: Dogs and humans are affected by their own species of mite. Scabies mites that live on pets are different from the ones found on humans. But, mites on pets may be transmitted to you from an infested pet. They can burrow under your skin resulting in itching. This type of mite will not reproduce on you ; should die within several days. You won't require medication but your animal needs to be treated.
