Ask Dr. for details: Exablate involves no surgery (uses MRI & us). The patient is sedated with pain medication, but is conscious, and so she can be treated outside of the hospital. Since some patients have reported successful pregnancy afterward, it may be a good option for women of childbearing age. While it is more costly up front, patients report few adverse events, and may have decreased costs over the long term.

Ask the doctor: You should ask the doctor who will do the procedure on you. Usually the doctor will give patient a per-op instructions.
