A member asked:

A neuro doc makes u walk heal to toe, what r they looking for exactly cause i always feel off balance when doing it but they always say normal exam?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tandem gait: Just part of a routine neuro evaluation, checking your gait, to see if weakness or dizziness might be something else. Abnormalities in heel to toe walking (aka, tandem gait) may be due to ethanol intoxication, weakness, poor position sense, vertigo and leg tremors.
