It is rare: Reticular erythematous mucinosis (rem) syndrome is a rare skin disease that predominantly affects the chest area of middle-aged women. The cause is unknown. However, exposure to sunlight may contribute to the condition. Treatment includes: little exposure to sun, antimalarial tablets, topical and/or oral corticosteroids, or even pulsed dye.
