This means: That you sleep cycles are abnormal. Usually when we sleep there are stages to our sleep. The first 4 stages make up non-REM sleep, with the 3rd and 4th stages being deep sleep where your body "repairs and regenerates". Then your body would transition to REM sleep. Finally the cycle restarts all over again. It sounds like for you, that you are missing this REM phase.
