Can you see white blood cells in urine?

Yes and no: As single cells, the naked eye would not be able to see individual white blood cells. So if there is just a small amount you could not rely on just looking at urine and know with certainty. However, in large groups as pus, white blood cells and other materials can be seen in this way. So large amounts would be more obvious, just like looking at pus around a wound.

Leukocytes = WBCs: White blood cells in the urine indicate that an inflammatory or immune system reaction is taking place. Without more information, in terms of other urine or laboratory markers, symptoms, etc. That is about all one can say with regard to this.

What are reasons for white blood cells in urine?

Infection: White cells (leucocytes) are the bodies way to fight infection. White cells in the urine are due to infection somewhere in the urinary tract. The infection could be in the urethra, bladder or kidney. In males the sexual delivery system could also be infected. Hopefully the specimen containing the white cells was collected properly and if so it could be analyzed for bacterial growth.
