Not very significant: Diverticulosis are very common especially among older patients. People with diverticulosis are at a very small risk of diverticulitis but significant number of people with diverticulosis never get diverticulitis which is inflammation and infection of diverticulum. Diverticulosis: That indicates that you have small pockets in the lining of the colon. It is a very common finding in people who eat a diet that includes animal fat. Management is directed toward a diet that is low in fat and high in fiber. If the pocket gets inflamed or infected, it is called diverticulitis and requires antibiotics and close monitoring.
