No great answer...: You may have what is known as an insect bite granuloma. When a mosquito bites, the bug "vomits" into the skin--releasing a chemical which prevents the clotting of blood. This enables the mosquito to leisurely "sip" your blood until she is full. The body reacts to the "vomit" by often itching or sometimes transforming into a firm bump or granuloma. Keep it covered: to minimize your scratching, use a topical hydrocortisone cream and an oral antihistamine. If those don't help or the bite is getting larger, painful, redder or draining pus, please see your doctor.
