A member asked:

Is streptococcus viridans a type of urinary tract infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Strep viridans: This is the name of a group of bacteria comprising different species of streptococci, some of which may produce uti, but this is not a very common cause of UTI and would question the validity of the diagnosis depending upon the manner in which the urine specimen for culture was obtained.
