It can: Most uncomplicated, symptomatic utis require a brief 3-5 day course of appropriate antibiotic. That said, some utis will clear up on their own with liberal fluid intake and a person's immune system coming to the rescue.

Maybe: Many utis resolve without antibiotics. Use a urinary symptom relief medication over the counter, such as azo, and increase you water intake. If symptoms do not resolve in 2-3 days, can you doctor.
