Hard in the middle: Granuloma is body defense mechanism response to an antigen which cannot be dealth with. Usually this response is by fibroblasts, macrophages and some inflammatory cells and is like a firm ball, in the center of which is trapped antigen. This is in contrast with caseating granuloma in which there is necrosis in the middle of this ball. This usually formed in tb. Shahzeidi, md.
