Probably not: Melanomas can rarely regress. Most important would be to see a board certified dermatologist and allow them to search for any skin lesions which are suspicious. Also excessive sun exposure and previous history of skin malignancies are important pieces of the puzzle. Is there a family history? Did the area of regression leave any sort of mark that you can pinpoint for your doctor?

Routine skin exam: It is probably nothing to worry about. 2mm is a very tiny lesion/mole. What to do now is to perform full body skin examination monthly and see a dermatologist if you ahve any concern about a skin lesion or mole. If you have many moles and you are worried, not a bad idea to see a dermatologist once a year. Use sun block, protective clothing, avoid the sun or tanning bed.
