Can calcium and vitamin d deficiency cause teeth acid wear?

Food and drinks: Acid erosion is caused by acidic foods and drinks. Sodas energy drinks, bottled iced teas, juice boxes, citrus, even diet drinks are highly acidic. Calcium and vitamin d deficiency will not have much of an effect on teeth once erupted but they can effect the bone and gum tissues.

Enamel: Enamel is fully formed and hardened before teeth erupt. Fluoride can strengthen enamel. Acids will weaken enamel. Adding Calcium or Vitamin D, or removing either, from your diet, will not affect the structure of your tooth enamel. Discuss your diet and vitamin/mineral/supplement levels with your Dentist.
