A member asked:

What's more effective for acid reflux, 300mg of ranitidine or 20mg of famotidine ? which one is likely to last longer, the effects ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About the same: Ranitidine and Famotidine are h2 receptor antagonists, and their efficacy at reducing acid and relieving reflux symptoms are about the same. For more long lasting relief, a proton pump inhibitor, such as omeprazole, would be a better choice.
