A member asked:

What level of myopia would cancel out presbyopia as you age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on age: Myopic glasses should be worn for reading to age 43-4 so you don't become early presbyopic. Presbyopia advances with age usually 45 =+1.25, 50 =+2.00 55= +2.25, >60 = +2.50. It may vary depending on other illnesses ; meds. So if you are a -2.00 you may read without glasses from 44 to 55. But if -6.00 you must wear a -4.75, bifocals/multifocals at age 45. If not accommodation ; convergence weakens.
