Well....: These are very common as we get older. I tell patients they are like wrinkles; of you have wrinkles at 25, something is wrong. If you have wrinkles at 75.... You're 75! those with a history of head injuries, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, and such tend to increase the number of these spots. As you state, they are not specific to any particular disease.
