Does it change?: If you have recently bumped the lip, it is most likely a mucous retention phenomenon or mucocele. The lesion occurs when the duct of one of the 1000s of minor lip salivary glands is injured. The gland continues to pump saliva, but it gets "backed up" into a small- large bump. Best to have it evaluated to rule out fibroma, lipoma, cysts, other causes.
