Be patient: Typical muscular quad strains require 8-12 weeks to recover from. Limited activities should be followed during this time period. Regular walking is ok, light biking is ok, to maintain some muscle tone. Start light stretching of quad after 4-6 weeks from injury. No explosive moves, like kicking, jumping or sprinting x 8-12 weeks even if you feel pain free early.
