See an orthopedist : And do this asap. Since the plate is exposed, it is contaminated with bacteria and possibly other organisms. It may require therapy with antibiotics, removal and a wide variety of other problems may occur. Do not ignore this. It might cost you your leg if it is not taken care of appropriately.

Get care NOW: Exposed hardware is a very dangerous situation. If there is not already an infection you are at high risk of developing one. This could require removal of the hardware. See an orthopedic surgeon asap.

Hmmmmm: You need to see your doc-- while it may well heal if very small and other factors are favorable, it is a set up for infection to have exposed hardware, so i would not go it alone.
