Want HCG =0: The standard of care is to watch for the HCG levels to get back to 0 (negative pregnancy test) to show that a miscarriage has completely resolved. This can take some time, but is important to follow. When levels plateau or start to increase we start to think of other things that might be going on .... Like maybe an ectopic?

Unclear: It's unclear if i understand your #'s why your doctor would make you wait for an appointment. Your HCG hit a high of 50, but then dropped appropriately to 35 and then 25. At this point, he/she could repeat labs until.
