Fracture Blisters: Fractures of the heel bone (os calcis) are powerful fractures usually from an mva or fall or impact type trauma. The large blood blisters are referred to a "mondors ecchymosis" and have a fairly typical distribution along either side of the heel bone and ankle following a fracture. You should see your physician for an appropriate exam and treatment. The blisters may need to be drained

Fracture blisters: At the time of the injury more than the bone is injured but the soft tissue envelop around a bone as well. The heel bone is no exception. The injury plus swelling of the foot can result in blistering which may take several days to appear and can occur after surgery. It is not recommended to drain the blisters as long as they are intact since they act as a sterile dressing allowing the skin to heal.
