Possibly.: If an 18 yr old male jogged relatively fast or uphill, the heart rate might reach the 174-180/min range during the exertion; however, it would be expected to come down fairly quickly upon slowing ones pace. Actually, the more one becomes conditioned to exercise, the lower the heart rate response to a given amount of exercise workload.
