A member asked:

What's the difference between tension and cervicogenic headaches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Headaches: Tension headaches are caused by muscle spasm in the neck itself. They can be brought on by stress or holding your head in a certain position for a prolonged period of time. Cervogenic headaches are generally due to a cervical disc or facet issue. These headaches usually require epidurals to help resolve. Both types of ha can produce traction on the occipital nerves which can cause neuritis.
