What do cysts and fibroids look like on an ultrasound?

See below: At ultrasound cysts are typically black with a thin wall near the transducer and bright echoes away from the transducer. Fibroids almost always have internal echoes, though they may be either brighter or darker than the surrounding normal uterine tissue.
