An unbalanced ovary: Often times if an ovary or fallopian tube are unbalanced due to a cyst in either structure, the ovary or tube can twist on its blood supply, causing ovarian torsion. This can be detected with a pelvic ultrasound. Ovarian torsion usually occurs with abdominal and pelvic pain.
