Yes, they dissolve.: Monocryl is an absorbable, clear, monofilament that is often used just under the skin to line-up the edges of an incision. It is less inflammatory than most absorbable sutures, so it is less likely to spit. It also takes a little longer to dissolve. I used it daily for wide range of cosmetic procedures like breast augmentation, tummy tucks (witch hazel) and facelifts.
