Fracture: Most bones with good blood supply that are capable of healing will mend within 6-8 weeks. Not all fractures heal easily though, which is influenced by location, displacement, age, health/nutritional status, smoking, etc.

6-12 weeks: If a hip fracture was repaired, with the intent for the bone to heal, this takes about 6-8 weeks. Recovery from the surgery, overall, takes about 3 months. If a total or partial hip was done, in most cases, bone healing is not needed, though recovery from the surgery still takes about 3 months.
