Permethrin treatment: I', assuming this was used to treat scabies. The mite is killed and the eggs that are under the skin are disabled immediately after treatment. However, the rash is a different matter. Part of the rash is caused by the inflammation of the skin in response to the foreign object of the eggs and mites. It takes weeks after treatment to get rid of residual inflammation after treatment and thus the rash
