Why not?: Were you instructed not to drink wine? If so why not? We don't recommend mixing alcohol with some medicine (like narcotics), but if you are not taking anything i cannot think of a reason why not. Just don't bite on the tooth until it is permanently restored.

Should be OK: Should not be an issue as long as you are not taking antibiotics and sedating analgesia. Moderation as always is the way to go.
