Need clarification: Twisted bowels may be referring to malrotation where they intestines do not rotate normally in utero and so can 'twist' on them selves. Some are chronic but others are acute ;potentially life threatening. If just in the wrong place, yes. If chronic, yes. If acute, only initially and then the baby becomes sick from a volvulus or twisting which prevents blood fromgoing to the intestine.
