30-60 mg/day: Too much zinc can be hazardous but a dose of 30-60 mg of zinc, ideally as zinc picolinate, is safe and effective. Not likely: Depends on your health status and reason, but recommended dose absorbed is about 8-10mg per day. Supplements are not fully absorbed, but for cold prevention, it works best when taken in proximity to the beginning of a cold's symptoms, and not with continuous administration.

It depends: We can get all the vit. D we need from sun exposure. Those who live far from the equator can not get d from the sun in fall ; winter but where you live it is possible to get d from the sun year-round. But if you don&#x27;t spend much time in the sun or use sunscreen then d would be beneficial. Possibly: There have been small studies in regards to both topical and oral preparations of zinc for acne.  From a supplemental perspective the oral ranges have been quite variable - from 40-300 milligrams of zinc sulfate two or three times daily for 4-12 weeks.  I would review taking doses higher than 50 mg per day with your physician.

Check your zink level: First! Zinc is recommended for many males for prostate health, and often is found in a multivitamin tablet. It has to be taken in the right proportion with copper. You don't want to overdo and take too much zinc. So if you been taking it daily by itself only, have your doctor  check your blood level first, then discuss your concerns. That is the best approach!
