For what?: False positive is when the result is positive for an analyte when it is not there. Specific drugs may cause false positives, but you need to know what is being tested for.

when you go for a sleep apnea test is it ok to use nasonex (mometasone) and zantac that day...or will it give a false reading?

It is OK: Apnea should always be confirmed with the proper medical sleep studies (polysomnography). The test it's done at  at a sleep center or sleep lab. Do not change your daily routine, because you want to resemble the real picture.
Rec.: to avoid alcohol and caffeine, they can change your sleep patterns.

H. Pylori Testing: Being on zantac (ranitidine) would do nothing to change the outcome of the h. Pylori test. If it is negative that is good and a reliable result.

False positive: Many medications have similarities to the molecular structure of drugs of abuse, and ranitidine (the chemical in zantac) can give false positives.  Assuming you mean positive for methamphetamine, this is not a common false positive, but is reported. Almost any cold medicine (afrin, sudafed, phenylephrine and others) can also give false positive amphetamine results. Confirmatory tests are negative.

how accurate is skin prick testing for food allergies? according to the test, im allergic to many things. ive never had a problem eating them though, aside from occasional discomfort with digestion. i take zantac, could that have affected results?

Zantac not issue: There are e basic tests of food allergy/intolerance. A blood test that looks at antibodies to foods (helps identify dangerous items). The pin prick that is subject to a lot of variables to accurate interpretation. The 3 rd is a diet diary that you keep noting symptoms(within 4 days) related to consumption. All are nice guides, but the diary is probably the most  practical for planning your diet.

Helicobacter: No, nexium (esomeprazole) and zantac will not affect results of the test. Several ways of testing exist; a blood antibody test, stool antigen test, or with the carbon urea breath test. The most reliable method is a biopsy during endoscopy with a rapid urease test, histological examination, and microbial culture. Also, a urine ELISA test is available. Don't know what you had done.

Need to be seen: Maybe you do or maybe you don't have reflux. Can't tell what you have here. Need follow up with doc. You need an exam, and likely some testing, blood tests, maybe radiology/sono, and/or endoscopy to check on other possibilities, including gallbladder issues.

I don't think so: With a BUN of 8, anybody worried about their kidneys should be very happy. The lack of real science behind the "EGFR" promotion is showcased by the adjustment for race "because black people are more muscular."
