No...: Fungal infections are considered rare and unusual involving the lining of the stomach. The esophagus on the other hand is more susceptible to fungal infection.  Higher risk of such fungal infections are seen in patients immunosuppressed due to medications or immunocompromised secondary to HIV infection.

Usually not: If you have a discharge with stomach pain, then you should see your doctor. Yeast infections generally don't cause stomach pain. You may have a more serious infection.

Yeast infection: Either this is not in the stomach or you are critically ill with immune suppression and potentially near death.  Think you may have misunderstood what you were told by your doctor. If not, would ask for more information.

Borborygmi: borborygmi, the medical term for bowel sounds, is noise produced by movement of the contents of the intestines.  It can be normal, or may be increased when you are hungry, swallow air, or when incomplete digestion occurs, such as in lactose intolerance. Yeast infection does not cause excessive bowel sounds. can't get in to see dr for 4 wks. how can i treat a yeast infection? also have severe lower stomach pains. 4 days now

Family practice : I would recommend going to an urgent care. Have an urinalysis and possibly a cbc. You could have your yeast infection treated at that time.

dr gave me the option of using fluconazole or terconazole for a yeast infection. which is safer? i also have stomach issues but would rather way out all the risk and use something thats safe. will fluconazole hurt my stomach/gallbladder ?

Not sure about yeast: No test result can be evaluated out of the context in which it was ordered. What kind of symptoms prompted the study? What are your underlying medical conditions (that may predispose you to intestinal yeast)?   If you are in the midst of a GI evaluation, have they ruled out inflammation, other infections, ischemic pathology, as well as motility disorders?

Unlikely, unless the: Indirect cause of the yeast overgrowth was antibiotics u might be taking. What symptoms r u having with your "upset stomach"? Nausea &/or vomiting? Heartburn? Gas? Treat those symptoms; if no improvement, see doc. As for yeast, many otc preps for treatment, but determining cause important: antibiotics? Douching? Diabetes? Tight underwear? If recurrent yeast problems, see doc for work-up.

Referred pain: Most likely from referred pain from the pelvis. I would recommend a complete evaluation and treatment as soon as possible. Good luck.

Medications: It is best to try antifungals including econazole, chlortrimazole, ketoconazole, nystatin. You may be able to get some of these over-the-counter, but will likely need to get a stronger prescription from your doctor if these do not work.
