Materials: Saline implants are bags of saline, which has a certain feel and movement to it. Silicone gel implants are bags of silicone gel. Different feel and movement. Fill a balloon with water and fill another with jello and let set in fridge. Squeeze them and poke them with your finger to feel the difference. Silicone would be somewhat firmer than the jello, but same idea.Read up on them. Good Luck.

Seroma v lymphocoele: Fluid in tissue is a balance between leak rate from a blood vessel (rate is higher in surgical areas due to inflammation and increased blood flow) and rate of resorption (fluid that goes thru the lymph channels). Usually fluid around an incision is a seroma, a collection of fluid that is similar to serum, yellowish in color.  On occasion, fluid can be lymph, creating a lymphocoele.

Not sure: It could be a problem with the implant materials? You might want to discuss with plastic surgeon who implanted yours about the implant you received and see if there are documented issues or not

Yes: The presence of implants make mammograms more challenging to interpret and can potentially obscure a small cancer.  It is best to have the implants placed behind the chest wall muscle to decrease this visualization problem.  Furthermore, when having a mammogram it is important to go to a facility with experience performing mammograms on augmented breasts.

Yes: As long as you are not having fever, redness, or unusual swelling than a topical agent can be considered.  Ask a compounding pharmacy to make blt, a combo of benzocaine, Lidocaine and tetracaine.  Your doc can order it.

No: The MRI is the gold standard for evaluating gel breast implants for a possible rupture but are expensive and may not be covered by insurance. A less expensive way which might give the information would be an ultrasound.
In any case you should see a board certified plastic surgeon to have this evaluated.
