With less energy: It takes less energy from falls to cause a wrist fracture in an osteoporotic person.  Also, the fractures can be more "smashed" into pieces with ostoeporosis.

Yes: Falls can cause wrist fractures and/or ligament tear. Both can be serious and persistent pain should be evaluated, preferably by a hand surgeon.

Not sure: I'm not sure what you mean by "close the wrist"?  Do you have restricted range of motion with flexion and extension of the wrist?  This is common after a fracture.  You should look up exercises for the wrist (Ask.com) and do these daily.  If that doesn't work an occupational therapist can help get the range of motion back.

Wrist fracture : Takes 6-8 weeks for most . A nondisplaced hairline fracture can take less and a scaphoid can take longer. After a fracture it still may take a month or two to fell less swollen and stiff even when radiologicallt healed. Overall i tell most that it is a 3-4 month process.

Usually: Depending on the severity of the fracture and which bones are involved, the wrist does better with immobilization to help it heal.
