Inflammation: Furuncles or pimples can be associated with a significant amount of inflammation, and this can cause some bleeding when it is opened. This can be exaggerated if you are on nsaids or other drugs that affect clotting. Gentle pressure should stop the bleeding.

If the bump is not infected, but is some other more unusual disorder, the doctor can start treating that also.

Drained: It needs to be drained . You need to go see your doctor so he can open it up and get the puss out and pack it with gauze. Then put you in antibiotics to kill the bacteria causing the infection. It will need to be repacked every day. It is not going to heal until this happens and may get much worse.

Infection?: When you say you just got glass taken out of sons foot do you mean 5 minutes ago or in the last 2-3 days?  If your son had a laceration on the foot due to glass a few days ago, had the glass removed and now a few days later has  pus coming from the wound then I would worry about an infection.  Please get it evaluated right away
