about a week ago i got one wisdom tooth removed and a sinus lift. im on birth control and my periods late. is this normal?

Stress can cause it: Just because you take bcp, it does not mean you can not get pregnant. I would rule out pregnancy if you are sexually active. 

Stressful events can alter you cortisol in the body which in turn can affect you sex hormones.

i have a lot of tightness and pressure in my cheekbone and jaw. does that sound more like dental problems like a wisdom tooth or sinus?

Could be: Can also be TMJ problems due to grinding. Have your dentist explore all of these possibilities.

Possibly: Consulting an oral surgeon and/or an Otolaryngologist would get you the best advice and treatment.

Very Minor Risk: Near the sinus cavity in not in the sinus cavity. All tooth extractions are minor surgery (some are more than that) and it must be expected that post operative complications can occur. If your general dentist is concerned about the procedure, then you should be treated by an oral surgeon.

is it common to have sinus pain after upper wisdom tooth removal?

Possible: The upper wisdom tooth is located in close proximity to the floor of the maxillary sinus.  In some cases the roots of the wisdom tooth, may actually appear to extend into the sinus.  One of the potential risks associated with the removal of an upper wisdom tooth is possible involvement with the maxillary sinus.  If the sinus was not involved during surgery, the sinus pain should subside.

how to know if i have sinus perforation or are my wisdom tooth clots dissolving?

See your dentist: It is possible for a sinus to be exposed while removing an upper wisdom tooth due to the position of the roots that protrude into the sinus cavity. If that had happened, you will feel more pain than usual and will notice air and fluids entering the sinus when you suck in through your nose. This can be very dangerous. Contact the surgeon/dentist that did the extractions immediately.

i just got my top left wisdom tooth taken out and i wanted to know if the pain from that can give me headaches or sinus pain?

Yes: Check with your dentist to see if it would be ok to take a nonsteroidal medication lilke Ibuprofen or Naproxen which are both available over the counter. If bleeding is a concern you may be a able to use Celebrex (celecoxib) which doesn't affect bleeding. All non-steroidals can affect the kidneys, raise blood pressure and cause GI problems so you may also need to check with your doctor also. Nsaids can help.

i have pain around my left lower wisdom tooth for a week now i have frequent sinus issues and wonder if safe to use neti pot in case of tooth infection?

Neti pot fine but: See a dentist or oral surgeon asap to address your tooth problem with specific treatment   most likely to remove the tooth.

i now have a sinus infection after having my lower right wisdom tooth extracted a few weeks ago. is this a complication?

Not likely: Sinus problems due to dental complications involve the upper teeth. The roots of the upper molars are adjacent to the maxillary sinus in the upper jaw. Your lower teeth are in a completely different bone (mandible) that does not connect to sinuses.

how long after wisdom tooth extraction am i at risk for dry socket? i had all 4 pulled, at least 2 were impacted, and one was near the sinus.  ???

Typically, symptoms for a dry socket develop 2 to 4 days after a tooth extraction.: Dry socket is more common in people with diabetes, smokers and women who take birth Control pills. The pain typically starts about 2 days after the tooth was pulled. Over time it becomes more severe and can radiate to your ear.Pain is associated with malodor and bad taste.Your dentist will clean the tooth socket, removing any debris from the hole,and then fill the socket with a medicated dressing.
