Depends : Bright red plaques that are moist itchy and odorous on groin can be candida.  If pustules around hair follicle, may be folliculitis or scabies. Better to have doc look at it because there are many things it could be.

Acanthosis Nigricans: This could be acanthosis nigricans, which in your case, may be caused by Insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. Usually you don't have symptoms, but sometimes it could be itchy. Have your doctor take a look at it to make the correct diagnosis. Good luck!

See Dermatologist: Most people will diagnose their groin rash or itching as a fungal infection and treat themselves with otc antifungal creams.  However not all groin rashes are caused by fungus.  Some rashes can be caused by irritation or allergic reaction to underwear or skin care products. Others may be caused by bacteria.  If you have tried otc products unsuccessfully it may be time to consult your dermatologist.

Can't tell: There are many potential causes for a rash.  If you are having abdominal discomfort at the same time, it may just be from a viral infection.  Try hydrocortisone cream to see if it helps. If problem persists &gt;2 weeks, may need to see your doctor.

It can be.: It can be completely normal, especially if you have skin of color or are overweight.  It may just be the result of chronic friction from walking, clothing, etc. It is also possible that a previous rash in this area will leave discoloration. It's a good idea to have your dermatologist evaluate to be certain it isn't anything that requires treatment.

Vaginal itch: This spreading vaginal itch may well be due to an extensive yeast infection requiring antiyeast creams to the affected areas and vaginal antiyeast suppositories. The infection can be caused by diabetes,chronic heat and moisture and can be gotten from your partner or be transmitted to him. Get checked by your physician or gynecologist.
