Chest doctor: A cough lasting longer than 2 weeks needs to be evaluated. The risk of lung cancer or TB is low is the chest x-ray was clear a month ago. However, it you are not satisfied with your doctor, you should consider consulting a Pulmonologist/chest doctor.

Depends: A "pancoast tumor" is a type of lung cancer in the upper lungs that can initially present with shoulder pain.  This type is pain is typically described as a deep pain, that is constant and not relieved by medications, exercise or therapy.  A chest xray and/or ct scan is the appropriate radiographic test to evaluate this concern.

A couple of: Possibilities. If the cancer obstructs an airway you can get pneumonia and then pleurisy. The tumor can also invade the chest wall and cause pain. Finally the cancer can spread to the bones and cause pain in that way.

See below: Depending on where and how advanced the cancer is, shoulder pain may be due to bone metastases (worse with movement) or due to pleural or phrenic nerve involvement (usually worse with deep breaths). Lung cancer by itself doesn't hurt. Hope this helps.

Anything is possible: There can be many causes of right shoulder pain: including lung cancer, liver disease, gallbladder disease, cervical (neck) disc disease, pinched nerves. However, cervical disc disease and shoulder problems are the most common by far.

Shoulder Pain: The shoulder pain could be due to a variety of causes, statistically unlikely to be cancer. It is true that some lung cancers in the right side can spread to a supra-clavicular node and/or partially obstruct the s vena cava, causing symptoms in the face, and neck. The best way to tell is schedule an appointment w/ your doctor, discuss your concerns, and get tested. A ct or MRI is the best bet.

Arm pain: Most likely explanation is a herniated or bulging cervical disc. Thoracic outlet syndrome, Pancoast tumor, &amp; lung cancer are much more rare possibilities.

Cancer phobia: If your had bone pain from metastatic cancer, this would show up on your x-rays. You also realize that you're young to have lung cancer, and that your cough is very likely due to your smoking unless your physician has found another cause such as a tendency to asthma. This would be a great time to stop smoking because the next scare may be real & get with your physician about dealing with fear.

NO!: Lung cancer has been eliminated as a realistic diagnosis. Move on, be glad. There are rather more mundane causes for shoulder pain. See an orthopedic surgeon and find out what's going on with that shoulder.
