my son was in the shower & some how managed to bump his head on the tub spout a couple days ago. today its still tender and it feels like theres a pea size bump should i be concerned? hes been putting ice on & off

i have been diagnosed with achalasia and waiting on an appointment to confirm what type. a big question i have ,is it possible to vomit of you achalasia? also why am i not losing weight like i have read everyone else does?

: I trust you're being advised by a gastroenterologist with expertise in treating achalasia, including referring to a proper GI surgical specialist to perform a laparascopic myotomy, if indicated. Most common symptoms are difficulty swallowing, heartburn and backflow or regurgitating food rather than vomiting. Apparently you're getting enough food through &amp; are not losing weight.

nail technician left a bit of gel polish around my nail, on my skin. its already been cured/dried and it wont wash off. am i at risk for developing a skin allergy to it? should i try and use acetone to get it off?

: Not likley. Should fall of as skin grows.

while im not vomiting or diarrhea.. im still a bit nauseas, have reflux and have lost a few lbs ten days now after norovirus diagnosis. when will i feel better completely? is reflux possible after norovirus? tastebuds off?

: It can sometimes take a week or two to recover from a severe bout of viral gastroenteritis or norovirus. Be sure to drink plenty of liquids and eat as well as you can. If you are not better within another week,  or if you are getting worse again, you should return to see your doctor. Good luck.

brush my teeth and my tounge for 2-3 minutes but when i lick the back of my wrists a few hours later my spit smells sour. does this mean my breath stinks? sometimes my spit doesnt smell like anything. sometimes it does?

: Cup your hands over your mouth and breath into them. Quickly move cupped hands to nose and breath in. No bad smell likely no bad breath assuming your ability to smell is intact.  Put on mask and the breath out to someone who is not wearing a mask. No bad smell. Repeat with your mask off. No bad smell by smeller (assuming their smeller is working) no bad breath.

is a little bit of itching  from methylprednosolone ok? no rash just itching.  just bothers me 2 days ago i ended up in the er from a fire ant byte feeling great now! was prescribed methylprednisolone.. with some other stuff

If : If the medication is treating other symptoms effectively, and you are experiencing some itching that is tolerable, then it should be ok. Nevertheless, itching is a sign of an allergic reaction. It is prudent to let your doctor know that this medication is causing an itch. Also look for other signs of allergic reaction such as hives, rash, swelling of the mouth and throat and redness. Let your doctor know about the itching, as he/she can prescribe something to remedy that.

Nothing.: There is very little chance of an isolated temperature elevation being of any clinical significance. If you feel badly you may take medications to make you feel better such as Acetaminophen or a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

after f.b.s.s how can i get fusion pain under control?

Accepted Answer

Several ways: First, be checked to see if ongoing pain is not do to something that was not addressed, or not fully addressed by surgery or whether you failed to heal the fusion.  Rarely, in males especially, a solid posterior fusion does not always address pain from a  disc that can still bear load & cause pain if no interbody fusion.  Adjacent segments should be checked.  Pain management may help - spinal stim.
